Types of Articles
Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles should present novel, confirmed, and carefully analysed research findings supported by appropriate experimental procedures. Manuscripts should contain sufficient methodological detail to enable other researchers to reproduce the work.
Articles should be written concisely and clearly and should include:
-
Abstract
-
Keywords
-
INTRODUCTION
-
MATERIALS AND METHODS
-
RESULTS
-
DISCUSSION
-
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
-
REFERENCES
Section headings should be presented in capital letters and should not be underlined.
Short Research Communications
Short Research Communications report concise, preliminary, or innovative research findings that are of significant scientific interest but may be less extensive than a full research article.
These manuscripts should not exceed 3,000 words, excluding the abstract and references.
They should include:
-
Abstract summarising the background, findings, and significance of the study
-
Keywords
-
INTRODUCTION
-
MATERIALS AND METHODS
-
RESULTS
-
DISCUSSION
-
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
-
REFERENCES
Section headings should be written in capital letters without underlining.
Review and Mini-Review Articles
Review Articles and Mini-Reviews provide comprehensive summaries and critical evaluations of published research on topics of current scientific interest. They should offer authoritative insights into recent developments and identify future research directions.
Review articles should be concise and should not exceed seven printed pages.
For detailed manuscript preparation instructions, please refer to the Instrutions for Authors.
Peer Review Process
IBSPR publishes only manuscripts that fall within the journal's scope and comply with its Instrutions for Authors. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet the journal's aims, scope, or formatting requirements.
The journal follows an internationally recognised double-blind peer-review process.
The review process is as follows:
-
Within one week of submission, each manuscript is assigned to an appropriate member of the Editorial Board or an external expert.
-
The reviewer first evaluates whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope before accepting the review assignment.
-
The reviewer completes the review within approximately two weeks and evaluates the manuscript using the journal's review form.
-
Reviewer comments and recommendations are communicated to the corresponding author.
-
Where appropriate, reviewers may upload annotated manuscripts or additional files to assist authors in revising their work.
Reviewers recommend one of the following decisions:
-
Accept – The manuscript is accepted for publication without revision.
-
Accept with Minor Revisions – Publication is recommended after the author satisfactorily addresses the reviewers' comments.
-
Major Revision Required – The manuscript requires substantial revision and will be reconsidered after resubmission.
-
Reject – The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.
Authors are generally expected to submit their revised manuscript within one to two weeks. If a revised manuscript is not received within the specified period and no extension has been requested, the submission may be treated as withdrawn.
Appeals Procedure
Authors who disagree with a review decision may submit a formal appeal to the Editorial Office. The appeal should clearly address each reviewer comment alongside the author's response.
The appeal will be forwarded to the reviewer for further consideration. If necessary, the Editorial Board may appoint an independent reviewer. The final decision rests with the Editorial Board.
Publication Ethics
The Editorial Board considers manuscripts for publication only on the condition that:
-
The manuscript is the authors' original work and has not been published previously, in whole or in part, including by the same authors.
-
The manuscript is not under consideration, accepted, or scheduled for publication elsewhere.
-
The manuscript does not contain defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, abusive, or otherwise unlawful material.
-
All submissions use inclusive and non-discriminatory language. Sexist, racist, or other discriminatory expressions are not acceptable.
-
All research involving human participants or animals has received appropriate ethical approval where applicable.
-
All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
-
Any conflicts of interest and sources of funding have been fully disclosed.
